| The founder of La Maison du Stevia, Patrick Merland, is a passionate person of plants who got interested in stevia after
meeting a person of his circle of acquaintances which used this plant to the every day life as a substitute of the sugar. |
| Intrigued that this plant is not more known, the curiosity of Patrick brought him on one hand to get itself seeds and to make
his own production in a Parisian apartment, and on the other hand, to study the history of this plant and to learn about its use around the world. |
| Plantations obtained during this experimental production possessed effectively the gustative characteristics of stevia,
properties widely described in the scientific literature and on internet. |
| Hardly of this experience, he decided to launch a production to a bigger scale of plantations of stevia, always omnipresent concerns of quality,
to be able to market the stevia as decorative plant and to become the first one and the only French establishment to specialize in the sale
of stevia in jar. |
| This activity is henceforth completed by the sale of by-products to companies, in a purpose of research and development.
These by-products will be naturally accessible to the general public when stevia will have received the license of launch on market
as food by the European Union. |
