You are a big fan of natural cosmetics and you want to try something new in your own miracle potions ?
Stevia is a cosmetics ingredient you should try.
The Barbara Simonsohn's book gives, in this area, a lot of information.
Some extracts of it will surely convince you :
Shine mask : " [...] mix some water to medicinal clay, until obtaining smooth cream and add some stevia extract "
Dry skin cream : " mix soft white cheese, olive oil, yolk and add stevia green powder "
Anti-wrinkle cream : " [...] light cream, fresh ananas juice (or mango or pawpaw) and stevia green powder "
On top of that, it has been demonstrated that stevia was improving the buccal hygiene if it is used as a mouthwash (see study : Wu, Johnson, Srikantha, Kinghorn (1998) "Intense natural sweeteners and their effects on cariogenic bacteria". Journal of Dental Research 77,283).
The mouthwash preparation is quite easy : heat in a bain-marie a water, fresh mint leaves and stevia green powder mixture. Let the temperature of your mixture increase slowly without boiling. Infusion is ready in a quarter of hour ; you have to filter the mixture and to keep your mouthwash in a fresh place. Do not prepare too much of it at once as this kind of mixture does not contain neither alcohol nor conservative, its life lenght is limited.
NB : we remind you that, according to the decision of the European Commission of February 22nd, 2000, stevia is not considered as a food within the European Union. The only use of this green stevia powder has to be as cosmetics ingredient.
